It’s not always black and white!

Hater in Da House, I need you, the others that contribute to this site, and those that read it to take notice of this piece. I hope after some will agree and wish to reply to it, I’ll post any and all replies sent.        There was another shooting here a few nights ago which is not uncommon in a city of 8 million and with almost as many cultures. Hater you know what I’m talking about since you live in La-La Land and have had to deal with the same things, as most large cities do more than others less inhabited. As with most of the times these things happen, the first tragedy isn’t the only connected to the event. The family of the victim have their own to deal with as does {in some cases} the person responsible for the shooting, this is one of those cases. It’s hard enough for all directly involved to deal with the aftermath, the rest of us take a pause hoping the families affected can recover and return to some sort of normalcy. It’s when the political and religious leaders get involved to take advantage of the circumstances to get their names and causes on the front pages that gets me, and MANY others, mad. These leaders love to make a great show how they’re so concerned about racial equality, WHEN it suit’s their purpose or fills their causes accounts. That’s what’s happening with this case and if those leaders aren’t kept in check they can, and will, make things much worse in a city I think is just a summertime away from MAJOR problems with all the cut-backs recently. I do not intend to demean the families loss but the Rev. Al Sharpton and his powerful friends are trying to make a “mountain out of a molehill” unjustly and need to be stopped BEFORE their actions cause bigger problems. Here’s what happened and then some questions I have about the incident after;        An off-duty cop, Omar Edwards, was walking to his car when he noticed someone breaking into his car. The officer, who was not wearing anything to show he was a cop, started chasing after the suspect with his gun out. He allegedly called 911 to report the crime before he started chasing after the suspect. Undercover officers patrolling the streets in an unmarked car saw the men running and noticed one had a weapon. They thought they had come up on two men having a disagreement of some sort, not a fellow cop chasing a suspect. The officer driving stopped the car and two others got out to confront the male with the weapon. One officer, Andrew Dunton, fired when the male turned towards them with the gun still in his hand despite being told to drop it at least twice, he hit what he found out later to be a fellow officer three times. Here’s where I have to tell you the slain officer was a black male and the officer responsible for shooting him was a white male. The Hispanic male, Miguel Goitia, responsible for setting the tragic events into place is a witness and is being held in custody for his part in the sad case.        Just reading the account of what happened, before I revealed the race of those involved, I hope you would agree with me Hater in Da House, some MAJOR mistakes occurred to cause this tragedy. I have some questions about the events that might help some see this was simply mistakes that caused a tragic outcome and not a “racial event” to tear the city apart. I’m wondering first why the off-duty officer didn’t have any sort of I. D. with him since most have a t-shirt, jacket, badge, or I.D. badge on a chain to slip over their neck to identify them as an officer on them when they get off. Were the officers in the car out “patrolling” for a chance to start a “racial incident”, or did they just happen to come upon one male with a gun chasing another who didn’t. When told to stop and drop his weapon, why didn’t the slain officer being a cop listen and immediately drop his weapon BEFORE turning towards the others with the gun in his hand? Why didn’t the officer driving the car position it better to provide “cover” for his fellow officers confronting what they thought were suspects. ALL of these mistakes converged in an on-the-street, spur-of-the-moment incident most of us never experience, especially glory-seeking political and religious leaders that need these incidents to keep their names in the papers lest we forget they exist.        Unless you don’t have a heart, and there’s PLENTY out there that don’t, most New Yorker’s were saddened to hear what happened. We felt worse when we learned a fellow officer was responsible, and the slain officer was a newly-married family man. Most of though see this for what it appears to be, a series of tragic mistakes, not what Sharpton and his friends want to turn it into, a racial incident. That’s not how they feel though and are organizing marches in protest while calling for a federal probe for what they call  another part of the ongoing racial differences regardless of what the facts show. I also question whether the grieving family want the notoriety during their time of mourning, or are Sharpton and his friends “orchestrating” things on the side as they normally do? I’ll be the first to admit his claims MIGHT have credence if Giuliani and his henchmen were still in charge, but even the great Rev. has to agree things are quite different with Mayor Bloomberg running things. He’s to busty spending his own millions to buy a third-term most real New Yorker’s don’t want so he can continue to impose his will on us. His police force is to busy trying to figure out other ways to scam more money from the government under the “Homeland Security” guise and playing with their new toys bought from that money. Both officers were young and fairly new to the force adding inexperience to the fateful mix. I wonder if Sharpton and his gang would ask for a probe or show the same outrage if the colors were reversed? The officer responsible is said to be affected deeply and now has to worry for his own safety thanks to the furor created by supposed leaders in the city who are screaming for his head. Does anyone really believe he can be an effective police officer in the future or remain living in New York after this? Bloomberg should take a break from his election purchase and try to make Sharpton and his crew accept the TRUE facts, not the ones they’re using to spin into a racial incident. That’s the cry from ALL Hispanic neighborhoods throughout New York after President Obama announced his choice to replace Supreme Court Judge David Souter who is retiring. 2nd Circuit Court Judge Sonia Sotomayor is the possible new winner of one of the most powerful chairs in the nation. The support for her has built faster than it did for President Obama out here as political leaders are practically tripping over themselves to jump on the new bandwagon in town. Both New York Senators beat them to it since they both sent letters last month in support of Judge Sotomayor. President Obama does seem to favor politicians from here since he has named them to some pretty important positions, Secretary of State, Health Czar, and now Supreme Court Judge, and Rudy gets none SWEET !!! Most of the politicians backing her want a swift process to happen since they feel she’s overly qualified for the job. Since it’s a fairly important decision I would like them to slow their roll a bit. She may be tough but I hope Judge Sotomayor is ready for what’s coming, they will comb through every decision she has made looking for one crumb they can use to discredit or deny her nomination.        It sure seems he picked one tough, typical New Yorker in front of them for consideration though! Just as she should be ready to face the firing line, those firing better be ready ! From all I’ve learned of Judge Sotomayor she definitely seems qualified for the job though I would have liked to know a bit more of the others in mind BEFORE a decision was made. As soon as Souter announced he was leaving it seems she had the position in hand BEFORE he finished the sentence. Although she did have a tough upbringing being raised in a one-parent household, many others around here had the same struggles during the same time. It wasn’t easy then but it’s a lot tougher now! From what I’ve found out about her she’s said to be a “bully” on the bench, probably that South Bronx upbringing. They also say she can be a bit verbose without really saying much, particularly when it comes to decisions. After she was named, much praise was given to her for her decision in 1995 that “saved” baseball. Most of the nation won’t like the fact she’s a DEVOUT Yankee fan and ruled against the owner’s using replacement players to resume the season which eventually led to the end of the strike that year. I couldn’t find any clue how she feels about Roe V. Wade, but since she’s Hispanic and supposedly Roman Catholic, I think we can figure it out. There also are no clues to her stance on the death penalty which is another HUGE issue she will have to rule on.                                          When first announced, my reaction was this is a move to “appease” two groups long ignored for years that President Obama NEEDS support from. I know current Supreme Court Judge Ruth Bader-Ginsberg feels better possibly getting another woman on the court to help keep the “boys” in line. I personally believe both groups would have raised hell if he had picked another “good old boy” even if that person was better qualified. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it till I drop, I don’t give a damn what ethnicity or gender you are if you are most qualified for the job!! The days of this country worrying so much about being “politically correct” should have been buried long ago if you ask me! We need to get the right people in place to fix this mess many others got us into, one’s that have ALL citizens issues on their minds, not just their gender or cultures. Based on some things she has said, I am a bit worried Judge Sotomayor may “favor” certain groups she is a member of but I am willing to wait for more info before condemning her.        The main issue I have with ANYONE named to the Supreme Court is the fact it’s a LIFETIME position. If we change the highest office in the land every four years, why do we continue to allow judges to keep the job for life? Eight-year terms seems fair to me with a second term offered based on merit, after that, hit the talk-show circuit about your upcoming memoirs. When we allow lifetime positions  the rest of the nation is beholden to that persons beliefs and decisions forever even if we disagree with them. I don’t think this nation was formed with these beliefs in mind. We’ve made quite a few “historic” moves recently and this nomination would add to the list. I think we should go a step further and change how our highest court runs itself in our behalf. Da New York Centaur

AN OBJECTIVE VIEWPOINT - PART 1 Stan,     This sounds like a right wing Republican rhetoric.  I have a friend that’s Republican and we have this debate constantly. I didn’t know that this is your ideology.  While I did vote yes on Prop 8 I had reservations and now  regret that I did. For one, whether the gay’s are married or not they will lay with each other. Second, marriage is a “civil” union sanctioned by our government.  You can get married anywhere, not just a church. Christians tend to ignore this, but you can get married in a dump by someone that gets his license online.     Atheists can marry, Satanists can marry, Agnostics can marry, etc. and these people to me are just as abominable as the gays. Are there soon to be laws against these beliefs?  I feel that Christianity and politics shouldn’t mix.     For moral issues I’m against gay marriage, but I don’t feel that if they were allowed to marry that if would affect me in any way whether spiritually or financially.  A hetero couple can get married in a church, but its not sanctioned until you get approval from the government by purchasing a license and registering with the government.     I’ve lived with my girlfriend for over six years and I’m constantly being criticized for not marrying her, because “spiritually it’s wrong”.  My answer to this is “why do I have to get the government involved in my decision to marry her?”   I’m against marriage for this one reason and I’ve always been against it.  If you want to get married I won’t begrudge you or anyone else, but it’s not for me.     Conversely if you can get married and I can get married and an atheist can get married and a Satanist can get married - why can’t everyone else, no matter the sexual preference or religion?  I remember that, after Katrina, Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson came out publicly with the same sentiment about the wrath of God because of the gays. I thought that they were kooks and still do.  I don’t want them to push there religion or religious views down our throats. I feel just as strongly about the atheists that are trying to push there beliefs into the mainstream, but I believe that people are born gay they don’t choose this lifestyle.     I have a sister and brother that I knew were different when we were young they both grew up to live the gay lifestyle, I picked on my brother.  They both have recently started going back to church and follow the teachings of the church so they don’t live that lifestyle anymore. While we don’t discuss the issue, I can’t help but wonder if they are happy in the current lifestyle that they are in.  They both are stylish and attractive people, but both are having a difficult time finding someone of the opposite sex. They both don’t feel it yet, but they are serving God. Spiritually they are full, but emotionally they are empty. George doesn't cast the deciding yea vote on this issue back in May, this issue isn't relevant today.  But an College educated man placed in a position of Law & Order and upholding the law of the land, took it upon himself to overturn the voters of California.  Yo Judge George, you owe thousands of Southern California homeowners an apology.  You need to look into the faces of the little children and tell them, they can go back to their bedrooms and the life they once had.  Oh you Gays & Lesbians who so diligently marched the streets of Southern California protesting, where you at now.  Why don't you try raising another 75 million and help out the victims who have lost everything in these fires, because I'm saying here and now that trying to push your agenda triggered these wildfires.     AMERICA!  More of the same is coming to this land if citizens across this land continue being too lenient with this group.  Are they bad?  Overall, no!  Their agenda is an ABOMINATION and no good thing is said about any abomination in the Word of God.  After GOD destroyed mankind with water from Heaven, He said, "He would never set out to destroy life with water again."  He is Faithful and True, He instead rained down Fire & Brimstone on the inhabitants of Sodom & Gomorrah and the surrounding cities destroying everyone of them.  Gays on Network Television flaunting their filth for all the world to view.  That gay guy was right, they aren't going to stop pushing their agenda and if history repeats itself, he's right.  Mind you, in the story of Sodom & Gomorrah after the angels had blinded (the Sodomites) them who tried to push their way through the door to get at them, the gays still continued to try and push through until they finally wearied themselves.  They were blinded and still kept trying, so what does that say for the spirit of these wayward children?     Granted, America has a lot of other wickedness here to warrant GODS WRATH, but this one (Homosexuality) brings about death to cities, maybe nations.  This ONE, needs Christians and other Religious Sects to take a stand and say, "HELL NO, NOT HERE IN AMERICA.  Do your ABOMINATIONS if you must, but don't try to make us accept it as MORALLY LAWFUL."  Currently we have two States honoring Same-Sex Marriages in America and that's two too many!  <MORE TO COME>     Get a load of these high school kids.  One of the fathers recorded it, added some graphic enhancements to the recording and posted it to the web.     The song, of course, is the "Battle Hymn Of The Republic."  Be prepared, it will definitely send a few shivers up your spine.  It did mine. A SORRY EXCUSE & EXAMPLE FOR A JUDGE     Look what you started!  Did you not consider that people would not take this laying down?  What in the hell kind of Judge are you?  Is this what you were appointed for?  How much money did you get for your decision?  Better yet, was the act good to you?  You are a pathetic piece of trash.  The worst kind of filth of earth possible.  Your deciding vote started all this in California.  You had to realize that this was coming and now we got the Queers & Perverts walking the streets of Southern California talking about EQUALITY.  They want make their perversions LAW.  OH MY GOD!     I'm confused Judge.  I always thought Judges were to be in favor of Law & Order.  I always thought Judges were educated no non-sense individuals who would never do anything immoral, let alone pass into Law immoral acts that threaten the foundation and structure of family values.  You must be on a new drug Judge or perhaps you're the Chief Supreme Fairy.  Do you dress in drag Judge?  Don't you have daughters?  Overturning the ban as you did only says to all children that they aren't safe in the play grounds, parks, amusement parks, etc.  Instead of trying to put to an end child abductions and molestations, you go and open a pandora's box.  Where in the hell do you think these freaks come from.  Hello Judge, there's a serious malfunction in these individuals no matter how intellectual or gifted they may be.     The last thing we need is a Judge in a position to make a difference making abnormal decisions and costing the citizens millions of dollars who voted against same-sex marriages in the first place.  Judge George, who died and made you GOD?  This issue should have not even been on the ballot and there would not have been misguided wayward children of God roaming the streets pissed off that the citizens of the State of California voted to reinstate the ban.  You should resign and go into a church and get on your knees, you and you alone set into motion Proposition 8.  It should be obvious that Gays & Lesbians don't take GOD serious and apparently you don't either.  There is a Heaven and rest assured if there's a Heaven, there's a hell too.  Who's side are you own Judge?     Where the hell did you get the idea that because you wear a black robe, that you could overturn a majority decision for the State of California.  You suppose to uphold the law, not inject your personal desires into it.  Surely, we have to be in the last days as the Devil is busy on his job and you Mr. Ronald M. George are one of his workers.  You gave the Queers & Perverts a taste and now they want it back, and will continue to try and push their agenda on the rest of this nation.  I don't use those two words affectionately either and I'm sure there are some very respectful individuals who prefer the alternative lifestyle.  I even know some, work with some and interact with them on a daily basis.  I'm on GODS side and they know this, and there's no shame in my game as far as standing right up and tactlessly telling them they going to hell.  I don't give a damn what they do really, we all breathe the same air, just don't pull me, my family and loved ones down with you.  All the people in Sodom & Gomorrah were not Gay & Lesbians, but they were destroyed right along with all the homosexuals because they stood by and didn't stand up for the LORD GOD ALMIGHTY'S LAW.     I'm more glad that the People of California stood up and said HELL NO & YES ON 8 than I am on Obama winning the Presidency.  I would enjoy seeing you resign your position as Supreme Court Chief Justice, you're a Supreme Chief ASSHOLE. That's what you are Ronald M. CLICK LINK BELOW FOR INFORMATION  « View all web results for CHARLTON HESTON HE WAS NOT MOSES, BUT ETCHED IN THE MINDS OF MILLIONS- HE WILL ALWAYS BE IDENTIFIED AS MOSES.  MOSES CHARLTON HESTON DEAD                 As the world turns and the beat goes on, a group of 5 News Events articles were rotating on my computer monitor.  Vick plays on the prison team, something about Yankee star players Arod & Jeter, Whitney and Bobby Brown gossip, Snoop Dogg endorses Hilary and Charlton Heston dies.  Which one of these News Events do you think touched this Black Man?      A good friend of mine from my High School days was buried yesterday.  My neighbor had a seizure last weekend and is fighting for his life as I write.  Which one of these events touches me more?      I never knew Charlton Heston, never ever been close enough to him to say hello or shake his hand.  So why does his death touch me?  The human mind is a very intricate glob of flesh.  I never knew Ike Turner, but if somebody mentions his name, I automatically see Larry Fishburne.  Naturally, I've never seen Moses, but when I think of Moses of the Bible, I automatically see the face of Charlton Heston.  I imagine a great majority of people who have seen The Ten Commandments will automatically see the face of Charlton Heston whenever they hear, think or read about the Moses of the Bible.  There's probably millions of children who have seen the movie, who don't know the name the man who portrayed Moses.  But if you show them the above photo and ask them what's his name, I guarantee you that 99% of them will answer, MOSES.     Why has this touched me so?  I can't really explain it, but I'm going to try.  Maybe it's something spiritual, but the death of Heston is like the destruction of a historical monument somehow.  My friend who recently passed, I only hung with him for those 3 High School years and only saw him about 6 times over the last 35 years.  My neighbor, I've only been close to him for the last 4 years, mainly because he's an elderly gentleman who I've taken to the doctor for the purpose of keeping his appointments.  He can't drive himself anymore. But Heston, I've seen him every year since I was seven and since the mid 80's, every Resurrection Sunday and Christmas Holiday season.  It's safe to say that over the years I've spent a lot of quality time with Charlton MOSES Heston.     The death of Heston signifies a generational milestone to me.  His death, reminds me how old I am and brings into focus the reality that we all are born to die.  A few years over the half-century mark, his death signals to me to make preparations for my own eventual departure.  If MOSES can die, so can I.     Heston portrayed a Bible icon and that portrayal made him an icon.  If Heston were a symbolic figure of the Biblical MOSES, I can't really think of a better actor who could have portrayed the real MOSES.  Whenever I saw Heston in any other movie, it was hard for be to come to terms with.  When I read and study my Bible and MOSES is mentioned, I see Heston's face.  No matter what role he played, he was MOSES to me.  Yes, the movie is probably close to 50 years old and here I sit wondering, how is the movie going to touch now, knowing that Charlton Heston has gone on to be with the Lord.  In my adult years whenever the movie was shown on the Resurrection Sunday and Christmas Holiday season, it had become a ritual with me to view the movie.  I normally preferred doing so alone.  It was like spending time with God, learning something new every time.  Some times I even read and studied other Biblical events while viewing the movie.     Of course technology has given us DIRECTV with it's TVO system and there's the movie recorded on DVD's, but I have always preferred viewing it live along with the numerous other Christian movies that came on in these periods.  I had found a certain enchantment and contentment in closing myself in and tuning out the rest of the world, while gluing myself to the tube.     From all indications of Heston's life, I'm convinced that what ever else he may have been, he was definitely a Believer and the portraying of MOSES had a positive impact on his life.  God knows I have spiritually enjoyed his portrayal of MOSES and in a strange way, I believe it was Heston's destiny to portray MOSES.  One day I stood on my porch and was rejoicing in the beautiful day that the Lord had made.  I praised Him for it as I was looking at the flowers and trees, and looked at the butterflies and listened to the singing of the birds.  I looked up at the blue sky and down at the green grass and I asked just asked, not expecting an answer.  Lord, why didn't you make the sky green and the grass blue?  A voice gently responded, "Can you imagine them any other color than what they are."  No Lord, I replied.  Suffice to say, nor can I imagine any one else portraying MOSES, but Mr. Charlton Heston!      Stanley W. STORY UPCOMING FROM DA HATER N DA HOUSE  THE BLACK KING      Houston, we're about to lift off.  It's about to be on and cracking, and it may get ugly.   While the double-team of Hilary and her puffing pot not inhaling fornicating husband Billy try to beat down Obama like he is fresh off a slave boat, the Republicans are quietly sitting back observing.  But are they really?  Is there a new way to play chess being executed here?  Are the Republicans pushing their pawns in the third dimension of this new way to play?       If you enjoy a good game the way I enjoy the game of chess, you have to admire the Republicans strategy.  Who do you think they really would rather face in The End Game?  The White woman or the Black man!  The White Queen or the Black King!       Let's be real for a minute.  Hilary should have already wrapped this thing up, just as McCain has done.  So why hasn't she?  There's a third party in this two man race, that's why.  Against long odds ladies and gentlemen, it's my opinion that Obama will triumph over the Clinton's bid to re-enter the oval office again.  However, Obama's victory will be short lived, cause he will go on to lose the Presidential nomination and you can bet your sweet Republican declining dollar on that fact.  Oprah's money will have been well spent and she will most likely get credit for most of it in next year's tax return, but just as money can't buy you love---her dollars won't buy Obama's entrance into the White House, not this year any way.      Some are saying the Clinton's are about to take off the gloves and start fighting dirty.  Start!  That's a laugh, I never actually thought they put them on in the first place.  Either Bill is a cancer pulling down Hilary's campaign or there's an awful lot of Blacks and Hispanics on Oprah's bandwagon pushing Obama forward at warp speed.  Are you kidding me?  The Black vote, I'll buy that, but are Mexican Americans really about to back a Black man?  Anything is possible and just maybe Oprah's influence is large and in charge of the Obama push.
